Let God arise,
let his enemies be scattered!
(Psalms 68:1)
Workshop
5 days (or two full weekends): Take steps to free yourself and get ready for your breakthrough! Listen to the Good News and follow the light of life.
- Psalms – healing for the soul
- David, King and Poet
- The devil versus God
- Write your own song of lamentation/worship
- Make a personal altar – with everything you want altered
The Psalms – of which most are written by King David – are for every occasion, mourning, loss, celebration….to uplift, inspire and set us free. We will read a selected number of psalms and listen to beautiful harp music. Which of them speak to your heart? You will surely understand King Saul, who found solace and tranquility through the beautiful frequencies of the harp. David writes from the deepest pain to the most exuberant joy and thereby inspires us to dare reveal our innermost thoughts – about painful memories, old nagging, failure and deprivation and about God’s wonderful power and ability to shine through even the most sombre darkness. King David is among the most famous figures in the Bible, and you will hear about his amazing life and his exquisite abilities as a poet and musician. You will visit his city, the City of David in Jerusalem, and be introduced to his family, not least his son, the later King Solomon who built the temple in Jerusalem. And what temple! You will also get an introduction to the concept of biblical trauma healing; a newer form of therapy that involves using the Bible as a powerful resource for the recovery of courage and joy in life.
Along the way, you will have written key words for your own prayer / song of lamentation or celebration inspired by the principles behind David’s Psalms. You will also have collected material for your personal altar that supports what you feel is important to you right now: maybe a new course for redemption and breakthroughs in your life, a song of praise in gratitude for everything you have received, or a prayer for more focus to make a difficult decision … You decide.
We will make use of nature’s gifts: trees, herbs, stones and moss and you can of course add any objects that have special significance for you and the theme you choose to work with. Tours outside will be included in the workshop.
